The Life of a flower

This is the life cycle of a flower. It looks so complex. There is a lot of steps in growing a flower. This particular flower is a English Holly. It is very pretty. And it has a lot of different types of things that it can look like, sometimes it can look like berries.

Antarctica

This picture is of Antarctica. Someone took this while they were going to the Antarctic Peninsula. It looks so pretty in this picture. Now that I have been looking at some other pictures I would love to go there. Antarctica's temperature is -27.5°C / -17.5°F in the summer. So I guess it doesn't really feel like summer down there. It looks so beautiful. But if I ever go there I would go in the summer because in the winter it is only -60°C / -76°F. And I would still bring plenty of clothes.

The Eagle River Nature Center

Lately I have been just posting flowers, but my title does have nature in it so here is a picture of some mountains. This picture was taken at the Eagle River Nature Center, it is right outside Anchorage and is part of the Chugach State Park. It is also the third largest State park in the U.S. It is so beautiful I can't believe how big it is. It's one-half million acres in size. I wish I could go there and see it. It would be so awesome. In the picture it is so blue. I could probably go and stay there for ever because it looks like it would be so peaceful. And it would be cold because it is in Alaska. I would also like to go there and hike on the 10 miles of trails they have. It would also be really cool to see all of the wildlife out there.

The Sponge Mushroom

This is a mushroom. I found this photo on Flickr. My stepdad loves to eat these kind of sponge mushroom. I have never tried these kind before. But my mom and I love to go hunting for them. This year we only found about five of them. They are really hard to find because they are surrounded by brown leaves and they are kind of brown so it kind of blends in with the leaves. And when we walk through woods I always wonder how many we have passed while walking. But if you every want to eat these make sure you soak them in salt water because they are full of bugs and dirt and the salt gets all of the stuff in them. But I don't plan on ever trying them.

The Helianthus

This is a Yellow Wildflower. It is called a Helianthus. It is also a form of the common sunflower. It is very pretty and I like how all around it is green and then there is a pop of yellow. It is very bright and I think that it could add a splash of color to any of its surroundings. I have actually seen these flowers before. I think almost everyone has seen one before. It would be pretty rare to find someone who hasn't seen one before. But I might have my mom get some for the garden we are making.

The Unusual Tulip

photo by Fire of the mind

This is a unusual Tulip. I have never seen one like this before. My grandma has some of these in her yard but they are just white. I wish she would have some of these pinkish-purple and white ones. I think it is really cool how the outside of it is white. That makes me want to go find some of these so I can go plant some of them in the front my house. It would really give my house a pop of color because around my house is just all green, but my dogs would probably just chew them up. These Tulips are very pretty. I found this picture on Flickr.

A STRANGE LOOKING FLOWER

I chose this picture because I like the colors. The colors are very bright. I like how most of the flower is pink with a little bit of yellow in the middle. I also like how this flower doesn't have pedals like most other flowers. And as you can see the buds look like most flowers but I wonder how the flower ends up with not really have any pedals ,I think that is really interesting. I would love to have some of these in my yard, they are really pretty. The only thing I would want to know is what this flower is called, so I can see where they grow and learn more about them. I like how the green around it make the flower look even brighter.
