The Life of a flower

This is the life cycle of a flower. It looks so complex. There is a lot of steps in growing a flower. This particular flower is a English Holly. It is very pretty. And it has a lot of different types of things that it can look like, sometimes it can look like berries.

Antarctica

This picture is of Antarctica. Someone took this while they were going to the Antarctic Peninsula. It looks so pretty in this picture. Now that I have been looking at some other pictures I would love to go there. Antarctica's temperature is -27.5°C / -17.5°F in the summer. So I guess it doesn't really feel like summer down there. It looks so beautiful. But if I ever go there I would go in the summer because in the winter it is only -60°C / -76°F. And I would still bring plenty of clothes.

The Eagle River Nature Center

Lately I have been just posting flowers, but my title does have nature in it so here is a picture of some mountains. This picture was taken at the Eagle River Nature Center, it is right outside Anchorage and is part of the Chugach State Park. It is also the third largest State park in the U.S. It is so beautiful I can't believe how big it is. It's one-half million acres in size. I wish I could go there and see it. It would be so awesome. In the picture it is so blue. I could probably go and stay there for ever because it looks like it would be so peaceful. And it would be cold because it is in Alaska. I would also like to go there and hike on the 10 miles of trails they have. It would also be really cool to see all of the wildlife out there.

The Sponge Mushroom

This is a mushroom. I found this photo on Flickr. My stepdad loves to eat these kind of sponge mushroom. I have never tried these kind before. But my mom and I love to go hunting for them. This year we only found about five of them. They are really hard to find because they are surrounded by brown leaves and they are kind of brown so it kind of blends in with the leaves. And when we walk through woods I always wonder how many we have passed while walking. But if you every want to eat these make sure you soak them in salt water because they are full of bugs and dirt and the salt gets all of the stuff in them. But I don't plan on ever trying them.
